My Top 10 Google Chrome Extensions

If you use Google Chrome as your internet search engine (umm….. why wouldn’t you?) there are many extensions I use – many on a daily basis – that really help extend Chrome’s functionality and are excellent, small-but-mighty tools to accomplish what I need to on a daily basis as a digital marketer.

Awesome Screenshot

Awesome Screenshot allows you to grab a .jpg of what you see on your screen … or even an entire page. For example, if I am want to get a big, long picture of a sales page I built to add to my portfolio, I use Awesome Screenshot to grab a picture. I also use it to grab quick screenshots for tutorials in blog posts, client off-boarding emails, or course materials. BONUS: you can blur, highlight, add directional elements (like arrows and circles), and even text right on the screenshot before you save it.

ColorPick Eyedropper

An eye-dropper and color-picker extension that allows you to select color values from webpages, I use this tool ALL OF THE TIME. When I’m building websites or sales funnels, I will try and match the client’s branding materials. But many times they haven’t shared a branding guide or branding board with me. So I will pop on over to their website and use this handy tool to grab the hex code color from their logo or other design elements.
I also really like using this extension in connection with pre-built color palettes I find on Pinterest or Design Seeds. Let’s say I search for “navy orange color palette” on Pinterest and several beautiful branding boards come up in my search. When I find the exact combo I’m looking for (or put together a custom mixture myself) I’ll use the Eye Dropper to pick the exact hex code color and work it into my design.

Facebook Pixel Helper

If you are building Facebook ads for yourself or a client, installing the Facebook Pixel Helper extension will allow you to see what pixels are placed on the page. It’s a great way to double-check your own work (or your clients) and make sure every step of your sales funnel is functioning the way it should. Did you put the pixel in the right spot? If so, the Pixel Helper will show up; if not, you didn’t install the pixel correctly.

Last Pass

When managing multiple client and personal accounts, keeping track of username and password combinations can get really complicated! And if you have a client that does not want to share their personal login information with you (a very legitimate fear in this digital age), by using Last Pass they can confidently share personal information WITH you – without revealing it TO you.
I would be truly lost without this. Now I only have to remember one master password for everything!!

Pablo

Creating images with the perfect size and format for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and even Pinterest has never been easier. After installing this extension, hovering over an image will produce a little “Pablo” icon in the lower right corner of a graphic. When you click on it, it will automatically open the picture in Pablo and allow you to edit into social media images. Typography, font sizes and formatting options for various social media platforms make it super simple to create content. It also comes with a built in library of stock images, so feel free to use theirs.

Do you like the look of an electronic to-do list, like on Trello or Asana? If so, this is the extension for you. It turns your Gmail into a Trello-like board, allowing you to quickly organize your emails into categories such as “To-Do” or “Follow-Up” or by client or project.

Turbo Ad Finder

Looking for a little inspiration for your next Facebook ad campaign? Wanna keep an eye on what your Facebook ad competition is up to? Turbo Ad Finder allows you to filter your Facebook newsfeed to ONLY show ads. By simply switching it on/off, you can control whether you see a normal news feed or just sponsored posts.

Grammarly

Grammarly will make sure your messages, documents, and social media posts are clear, mistake-free, and impactful. Adding Grammarly to Chrome means that your spelling and grammar will be vetted on Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Tumblr, and nearly everywhere else you write on the web. (Hint: I’m using it right now….)

Hootsuite Hootlet

If you’re looking for a social media scheduler that’s easy to use, look into this Chrome extension. As you’re out and about exploring your favorite websites and blogs, if you come across something you’d love to share with your followers, you can use Hootsuite to post it with just one-click (it will even let you schedule it right in the extension) across your different social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

Loom

Capture, narrate and instantly share videos to communicate faster, clearer and friendlier – totally free. Want to record a quick “how-to” for a client or coaching student? What Font?

Find out what font is used on any site with a click. Once installed, click the extension to “turn it on”. Then wherever you hover, the font will be revealed. When you click on the font, you’ll get detailed information about it, such as the weight and color and size of the font as well, allowing you to quickly grab valuable data for recreating a webpage.
